Una mañana de octubre de 1904 un hombre atravesaba el umbral de una diminuta iglesia de piedra del recóndito valle de Boí, en el Pirineo catalán. Su traje y sombrero oscuros, bigote arreglado y unas gafas sin patillas, sujetas por un cordel a su camisa, lo delataban como un extraño en ese entorno de montaña.
